Working as part of our Data Protection team, you will help co-ordinate and respond to individual rights requests accurately, securely and within the required timescales. You will work with colleagues across the Group to gather and review relevant information, maintain clear records and ensure actions are followed through. You will manage routine activity with appropriate guidance, escalating complex, sensitive or higher-risk matters to the Group Head of Data Protection or other specialist colleagues. Alongside individual rights requests, you will support the wider privacy programme, helping to maintain data protection documentation, coordinate compliance activity and track actions across the business. Organisation, attention to detail and sound judgement will be central to your success, particularly when handling confidential information and competing deadlines.
Most of the duties for this role can be completed remotely (within the UK), however occasional office presence will also be required, and so a willingness and ability to travel when needed is important. Our Head Office is in Leicester and is the main focal point of activity. Additional key sites include Northampton, Colchester, Leeds, Manchester, Southport, and Cambridge.
Shortlisted candidates will be contacted the week commencing the 10th August with interviews scheduled to take place at our Leicester Head Office the following week.

You will be confident communicating with stakeholders across different areas of the business, whether requesting information, following up actions or providing clear process updates. You will also know when a matter requires specialist input and be comfortable escalating it appropriately. You will bring some experience of individual rights requests, particularly subject access requests, or previous experience within data protection, compliance, legal, customer service or business support. A basic knowledge of UK GDPR, data protection legislation and PECR is also required, as is a demonstrable interest in developing your knowledge and building a career within data protection and privacy. Experience using case-management, workflow-tracking or document-management systems would also be helpful, together with confidence using Microsoft Office to maintain records and monitor deadlines.
Offers will be made against the £30,000.00-35,000.00 salary banding in line with a candidate's existing skills and experience, as well as interview performance. For transparency, offers in line with £30,000.00 would be considered suitable for candidates with some relevant data protection, compliance, or subject access request experience who still require guidance on less routine matters, with offers made at the upper end reserved for candidates with proven experience of managing most routine individual rights requests independently, escalating only complex, sensitive, or high-risk matters.
