About Simplicity Group
Simplicity Group delivers advanced fleet risk management, video telematics, and vehicle technology solutions across the UK & Ireland. We support fleets operating in transport and logistics, waste management, construction, utilities, and passenger transport — sectors where safety, compliance, and operational resilience are critical.
The Mantis platform is used to:
- Reduce incidents and false claims
- Protect drivers and organisations
- Improve accountability and safety culture
- Support compliance and insurance-led decision making
We are a vehicle-first organisation. Our technology operates in live vehicles, in real operational environments, and our customers expect clarity, confidence, and professionalism from the very first interaction.
About the role
As a Strategic Sales Development Manager, your primary responsibility is to create high-quality, commercially sound sales opportunities for the Fleet Sales team. Simplicity Group is building a high-performance commercial team to lead the next phase of growth in fleet risk, safety, and video telematics across the UK & Ireland. We are hiring two Strategic Sales Development Managers (SSDMs) dedicated exclusively to the Mantis platform, a safety-first fleet solution designed to reduce incidents, protect drivers and assets, and deliver measurable insurance and operational impact.
This is not a traditional SDR role. It is a structured, commercially intelligent sales development position designed for ambitious professionals who want to build a long‐term career in B2B sales, with a clear pathway into Business Development Manager (BDM) based on performance. If you are motivated by building high-quality pipeline, engaging senior decision-makers, and contributing to meaningful commercial growth, this role offers genuine progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Build structured target account lists across defined sectors (50–500 vehicle fleets)
- Conduct research-led outbound engagement across phone, email, and LinkedIn
- Initiate professional conversations with Fleet Managers, Operations Directors, H&S Leaders, and Business Owners
- Lead structured discovery conversations focused on safety risk, insurance exposure, theft prevention, and operational efficiency
- Qualify opportunities rigorously against Simplicity Group’s ideal customer profile
- Book well-prepared, commercially relevant meetings for senior sales
- Maintain disciplined CRM management within Salesforce
- Attend sector events and represent Simplicity Group professionally
This role is measured on opportunity quality and pipeline contribution — not call volume in isolation.
Target Sectors
You will develop structured opportunities within:
- Transport & Logistics
- Construction & Infrastructure
- Cold Chain & Temperature-Controlled Logistics
These are operational sectors where credibility, preparation, and commercial judgement matter.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role is demonstrated by:
- Consistent creation of sales-accepted opportunities
- Strong conversion of opportunities into qualified pipeline
- Clear and commercially relevant handovers to senior sales
- Growing credibility within defined fleet sectors
- Demonstrated readiness to progress into a BDM role
Who the Role Suits
This role is suited to someone who:
- Has 2–4 years’ experience in B2B sales, sales development, or a commercial role
- Is confident engaging senior operational stakeholders
- Understands that strong pipeline requires structure, consistency, and judgement
- Is comfortable with outbound engagement but values intelligent conversation over scripts
- Is ambitious and motivated to progress into a closing sales role
- Takes ownership of preparation, standards, and results
Experience in fleet, transport, CCTV, insurance, risk management, or safety-led industries is advantageous but not essential.
What this Role is not
Not a high-volume call-centre role. This is a professional commercial role with clear performance expectations and long-term progression.
What we Offer
High-performing SSDMs will have a defined pathway into:
- Business Development Manager (BDM)
- Sector Specialist Positions
- Senior Commercial Roles
Progression is based on performance, pipeline quality, and commercial maturity — not tenure alone.
What we Offer
- Realistic OTE of £45,000 – £50,000
- Structured onboarding and product training
- Clear development framework and progression plan
- Exposure to senior leadership
- Modern office environment with onsite parking
- Professional, high-performance team culture
