Simple Recruitment are looking for a proactive Shipping & Logistics Coordinator for a permanent opportunity with our client in Midsomer Norton.
The Job:
In this office-based role, you will assist with the company’s day-to-day task of monitoring stock levels, efficient storage of product components, correct packaging and distribution of products. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in supply chain management within a supportive and dynamic team.
Shipping & Logistics Responsibilities:
- Operating IT Systems (stock control, Courier, Microsoft Office etc)
- Liaising with transport companies and clients
- Sending shipment notifications for clients
- Ensuring quality objectives and delivery deadlines are met
- Prioritising your workload and managing time efficiently
- Administering stock control and stock checks
- Contacting Accounts when stock needs reordering
- Taking deliveries and checking quantities against purchase orders
- Maintaining warehouse organisations and structure
- Meeting targets and deadlines set by management
- Ensuring the warehouse is kept to a clean and presentable standard
- Initiating, coordinating, managing and enforcing warehouse operations and company policies
About You:
- Proven work experience
- Understanding of freight and international shipment requirements
- Understanding of dangerous goods in limited quantities
- Knowledge of shipping & Logistics procedures and best practices
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of warehouse key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Hands on experience with Shipping & Logistics software and databases
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
