Simple Recruitment are looking for an experienced Pre-press and Production Operative for a permanent opportunity with our client in Radstock.
The Pre-press and Production Operative is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production machinery to ensure efficient and safe manufacturing operations. The role includes using the relevant software to set up production files, preparing machinery for production, performing quality checks, and troubleshooting minor issues. This position is key to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the production line, adhering to production schedules, safety standards, and quality control requirements. To guarantee that deliveries and installation completion targets are fulfilled, this position will involve on site working and collaborating with the on-site team.
This role requires a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to meet project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Carry out production of all printed graphics required by the business across all print platforms.
- Operate machinery to produce products in line with the specified production targets and quality standards.
- Develop a solid technical knowledge of what is required to ensure files are suitable for production.
- Produce accurate print & cut files ready for production.
- Provide expert level artwork advice to clients & colleagues.
- Take ownership of issues and challenges that arise.
- Support the production and installation teams with the preparation, manufacturing, installation, maintenance of all types of signage, exhibition and displays when required.
- Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all machinery.
- Report on production status, performance, and any issues to line manager.
- Ensure all production tasks are completed on time, to a quality standard consistent with the company’s vision.
- Ensure the use and maintenance of all tools and equipment comply with safe and efficient performance.
- Assist with routine maintenance of equipment and machinery to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with the production team and other relevant departments.
- Support with installation and deliveries.
- Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the delivery and installation process.
- Install and set up products or equipment at the designated location and support with any on site installation set up / issues.
- Must be required to have a full driving license.
- Experience in set up/ print.
- Experience in file handling, checking, preparing files for print & cut.
- The ability to remain calm and focused during busy periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- Computer literate with the ability and desire to learn new skills & software.
- A passion to contribute towards both individual and team goals.
- Knowledge of the printing industry and Pre-Press workflows would be beneficial however training will be provided.
