Simon & Schuster UK is looking for an experienced publishing Contracts Manager to competently handle the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of paperwork. We are hiring due to an increased volume of work in Simon & Schuster UK’s growing Contracts team, with exciting new projects happening both within the team and across the company.
You will work across the Adult and Children’s publishing divisions and provide contractual advice across the business. You will negotiate and draft a wide range of agreements with authors, agents, publishers, and other third parties for the acquisition of rights across key territories as well as being a confident advisor, working to support Editorial teams to negotiate terms and answer contractual queries. Working collaboratively with the Contracts team, you will oversee workflow and maintain high-quality standards throughout the full lifecycle of publishing contracts.
You will be commercially minded and have existing knowledge of Contracts within the UK publishing sector together with a solid understanding of current publishing practices. You will be highly organised, a competent negotiator and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for building and maintaining effective working relationships with your stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are essential for the success in this role.
