We are now seeking a Resource/Staffing Manager to join us in London. This role is key to the success of our UK consulting business, working closely with Partners, Directors and Project Managers to ensure project teams are staffed effectively, sustainably and in line with commercial priorities and consultant development goals.
How you will create impact:
- Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on staffing decisions, balancing utilisation, profitability, client value delivery and consultant development.
- Solve complex, fast-moving resourcing challenges, anticipating demand and capacity risks and proposing practical solutions.
- Optimise utilisation, supporting high-quality client delivery and enabling a positive consultant experience across the UK consulting business.
- Manage our regular consultant pulse-check surveys to help assess team workload and satisfaction, working with project Partners and the relevant HR Business Partner to determine actions to balance team wellbeing with project delivery demands.
- Build strong relationships with people managers and consultants to understand skills, career aspirations, availability and wellbeing considerations.
- Apply and embed clear staffing principles to support learning, capability building and sustainable workloads.
- Collaborate with global resource management teams to facilitate cross-office staffing and international mobility where appropriate.
- Ensure all resource planning data sources are kept fully updated, including our resource management tool, Napta.
- Drive consistent use of staffing tools and data management to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Work with the relevant HR Business Partner and Recruitment Manager to forward track available team resources.
- Build positive working relationships with Resource Management professionals across the company.
- Ensure deployment of interns and early career hires maximises their development potential and success.
We anticipate that there may be the opportunity to contribute to some recruitment activities alongside the primary delivery areas for the role.
Your profile:
- Exposure to Resource Management or staffing processes within a strategy consultancy, management consultancy, law firm, accountancy or other professional services environment.
- Experience working directly with Partners and senior leaders to optimise resource utilisation.
- Strong analytical capability, with confidence using utilisation and pipeline data to inform decisions.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to operate credibly with colleagues who are working in a client-driven environment.
- Commercial mindset, with a clear understanding of how utilisation and team composition impact profitability.
- Proactive, resilient and highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities at pace.
- Potentially some experience of contributing to recruitment efforts.
