About us: We are currently recruiting a weekend Class 1 HGV driver to join our team providing warehousing and logistics services from our custom designed warehouse near Milton Park to our UK Customer sites, with the majority of the work being local within Oxfordshire. The job is based from our HQ and warehouse near Sutton Courtenay, Didcot and offers an opportunity to use your driving skills during the day, returning home in the evening to enjoy a good work/life balance. Weekday shifts are 8am to 5pm and weekend shifts are 6am to 6pm making a 40-hour week over 4 days. Applicants must be willing to support the logistics team in loading and unloading the vehicle, and to learn how to process the goods into location when their driving schedule allows.
Key duties:
- Carrying out deliveries between the DQ120 warehouse and customer sites in the UK, mostly within Oxfordshire
- Operating and driving Class 1 (Category CE) vehicles safely and efficiently
- Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
- Adhering to traffic laws and regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
- Assisting with loading and unloading of materials as required
- Supporting logistics team in processing and moving materials through the warehouse or customer sites when possible
About you:
Essential Skills:
- Valid UK Category CE driving licence
- Minimum of 12 months experience driving CE vehicles
- Valid UK Driver CPC card and Digital Tachograph card requirements
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences and no major endorsement codes
- Able to communicate sufficiently well in spoken and written English to meet the requirements of the role
- Punctual with excellent timekeeping
- Good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
