The Administrative Coordinator, Research plays a key role in supporting the School of Medicine’s Research Division by handling administrative, logistical, and operational tasks that ensure the effective delivery of programs and services. This position facilitates smooth communication, coordination, and compliance across research activities, while assisting faculty, staff, and leadership with project management, event planning, financial oversight, and documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating research events
  • Supporting grant applications
  • Monitoring program performance
  • Streamlining processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline and two years of related experience, including project coordination or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of University Policies: Understanding research operations, finance, HR, and project management policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Research Funding: Experience with Canadian research funding agencies (CIHR, NSERC, MSHRBC) and grant applications.
  • Project Management Skills: Proficiency with project management tools and techniques to monitor timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities, with a talent for summarising complex health research clearly.
  • Financial Management: Familiarity with bookkeeping, financial reconciliation, and handling expense claims and financial reports.
