Simon Bailes has built a strong reputation founded on customer service, trust, integrity and long-standing relationships.
As the business continues to evolve, with new franchise opportunities, brand development projects and a new website strategy, we are looking for a talented marketing professional to help drive change and accelerate success.
This is far more than a traditional marketing role.
It is an opportunity to build on a trusted brand whilst creating innovative marketing strategies that deliver measurable commercial results.
You will have the freedom to shape the future direction of marketing across the business, developing campaigns that increase the sale of new cars, used vehicles and light commercial vehicles, while strengthening customer engagement and loyalty.
The Role
Reporting to the managing director initially, you will lead and deliver an always-on marketing strategy that drives awareness, customer acquisition and revenue growth across the dealership.
Working alongside internal stakeholders and external agency partners, you will develop consistent, distinctive brand storytelling that builds trust, showcases the quality of our customer experience and strengthens our market position.
Key responsibilities include
- Developing and delivering the overall marketing strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Leading the ongoing development of the Simon Bailes brand and customer experience.
- Supporting the launch and growth of new franchise opportunities.
- Working closely with agency partners on branding, website development, PPC, SEO, PR and digital performance.
- Producing compelling, high-quality content optimised for search and designed to drive engagement and conversion.
- Developing integrated campaigns across website, social media, email marketing, paid search and events.
- Managing and developing a Marketing Executive.
- Setting clear KPIs and reporting on campaign performance and return on investment.
- Managing marketing budgets to maximise effectiveness and commercial impact.
- Building strong relationships with manufacturer marketing teams and external partners.
- Ensuring every marketing activity reflects the company's values, reputation and commitment to customer service excellence.
- The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced and energetic marketing professional who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach.
You will be passionate about marketing, thrive on challenge and be motivated by the opportunity to deliver meaningful change within a growing business.
You will be equally comfortable developing long-term strategy and rolling up your sleeves to execute campaigns that produce measurable results.
You’ll bring
- At least five years' marketing experience, including leadership or team management responsibility.
- A proven track record of developing and delivering successful marketing strategies that drive growth.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing, performance marketing and customer acquisition.
- Experience across SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing, websites and content creation.
- The ability to create compelling content and brand stories that engage audiences and generate commercial results.
- Experience managing external agencies and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with a focus on continuous improvement and ROI.
- Experience using website CMS platforms, Google Analytics, Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and leadership skills.
- Commercial awareness combined with creativity, initiative and attention to detail.
Motor industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
We are more interested in finding an exceptional marketer with the drive, ambition and expertise to make a significant impact.
