About the Role
This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to lead the retail sales function, driving commercial performance across the showroom while developing and managing a high-performing team. You will take ownership of sales targets, conversion, CRM discipline, and overall showroom standards, ensuring a consistently high-quality customer experience. This is a hands-on commercial leadership role requiring strong accountability, team management, and the ability to identify and resolve performance issues quickly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Lead, manage and develop the showroom sales team to consistently high standards
- Set clear expectations for performance, behaviour, follow-up and professionalism
- Coach team members to improve conversion, product knowledge and sales performance
- Address performance issues and inconsistencies promptly
- Manage daily showroom structure, cover and organisation
- People Management & Standards
- Lead and support operational staff including warehouse and delivery teams
- Maintain high standards across attendance, attitude, pace and accuracy
- Promote a disciplined and accountable working culture
- Ensure strong cross-department collaboration (Retail, Projects, Operations, Accounts, Marketing)
- Retail Sales Performance
- Drive retail revenue and ensure targets are achieved
- Monitor conversion rates, margins, average order value (AOV) and pipeline quality
- Ensure disciplined follow-up and proactive sales activity
- Develop and manage new outbound sales opportunities
- Maintain visibility and control of sales performance across the team
- Customer Experience & Showroom Standards
- Ensure exceptional customer experience across all showroom interactions
- Lead by example through personal client engagement and meetings
- Manage high-value or complex customer relationships where required
- Maintain showroom presentation, displays and product updates to a high standard
- Support showroom events and new product introductions
- Process, CRM & Operational Alignment
- Ensure strict CRM and sales process compliance across the team
- Maintain accurate quoting, handover and sales documentation standards
- Use data and reporting to manage performance and pipeline health
- Provide regular updates and reports on performance and pipeline
- Reduce friction between retail, operations and accounts teams
Requirements / Skills:
- Proven experience in retail sales management, ideally within KBB, interiors or design-led environments
- Strong commercial awareness with experience of working to targets
- Confident leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong CRM and process discipline
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
- Ability to identify issues early and take decisive action
