About the Role

The Production Supervisor will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the factory floor, ensuring projects move safely, efficiently and on schedule through every stage of manufacture. This is a hands-on role, supervising a multi-skilled production team, organising workflow, monitoring progress, resolving production issues and maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and supervise the daily production workload across the factory.
  • Allocate work to Bench Joiners, Machinists, CNC Operators, Veneering, Assembly and Factory Operatives.
  • Ensure production follows the agreed manufacturing programme.
  • Monitor progress and identify potential delays or bottlenecks.
  • Ensure materials, components, drawings and documentation are available before production begins.
  • Maintain full traceability of live projects through Job Cards and production documentation.
  • Monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process and minimise rework.
  • Ensure products are manufactured accurately to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Supervise, support and motivate the production team.
  • Lead by example and promote a positive, organised and productive working environment.
  • Communicate production progress, issues and delays to the Managing Director, Design Team and Project Management.
  • Maintain accurate production records and update system daily.
  • Highlight projects at risk of missing deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and efficient factory environment.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure Health & Safety procedures are followed.

Requirements / Skills:

  • Previous experience in a Production Supervisor, Workshop Supervisor, Production Team Leader or similar role.
  • Experience within joinery, furniture or bespoke manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and factory workflow.
  • Experience supervising a multi-skilled production team.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple live projects.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve production issues quickly.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A hands-on approach with the ability to work alongside the production team.
  • Experience with production management systems would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.
