About the Client

Simon Acres Group LTD are representing a well-established and successful heating and plumbing merchant. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving business, assisting the Branch Manager in delivering the effective, commercially successful and customer-driven operation of the branch.

About the Role

As Assistant Branch Manager, you will support the Branch Manager across all aspects of branch performance, stepping in to lead when required. You will be actively involved in day-to-day operations, sales growth, team development, and delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring the branch consistently meets its objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day management of branch operations.
  • Deputise for the Branch Manager in their absence.
  • Assist with stock management, purchasing, and product merchandising.
  • Identify and drive sales opportunities to grow turnover and customer accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Support financial performance through cash control, margin management, and profit improvement.
  • Motivate, coach, and develop team members to achieve high performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, HR, and company policies and procedures.

Requirements / Skills:

  • Previous supervisory or management experience, within the heating and plumbing trade.
  • Must hold a full, valid driving licence.
  • A strong customer-focused mindset and the ability to build lasting relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, leadership and organisational skills.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.
