THE ROLE
As National Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering sustainable, profitable sales growth by leading and developing an experienced team of field-based Area Sales Managers. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will hold direct responsibility for managing and expanding a portfolio of key strategic national accounts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute the national sales strategy to achieve ambitious growth and profitability targets across the UK.
- Lead, coach, and inspire a field-based team of Area Sales Managers, setting clear objectives, performance measures, and individual development plans.
- Conduct regular field visits, joint customer calls, and structured performance reviews to foster a high-performance sales culture.
- Directly manage, develop, and grow selected strategic national accounts, building long-term relationships with key decision-makers and leading commercial negotiations.
- Drive new business acquisition and customer penetration across independent retailers, merchants, developers, and contractors.
- Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and market feedback to identify new business opportunities and support product development.
- Deliver accurate sales forecasting, pipeline analysis, and performance reporting using CRM and business intelligence tools.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, marketing, product, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery and support key product launches.
ABOUT YOU
- Essential: Proven track record of success in a senior sales leadership role, with direct experience managing and developing field-based sales teams.
- Essential: Strong commercial acumen with a history of driving profitable revenue growth and negotiating major national accounts.
- Essential: Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a nationally dispersed team effectively.
- Essential: Full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake extensive nationwide travel, including regular visits to the Manchester display centre/trade counter and Group Headquarters in Ireland.
- Desirable: Experience within the KBB, kitchen, furniture, interiors, building products, merchanting, construction, or home improvement sectors.
- Desirable: Proficiency in CRM systems, sales performance analytics, and business/marketing-related qualifications.
