About the Client

Simon Acres Recruitment are representing an established bespoke joinery and furniture manufacturer seeking a skilled SolidWorks Designer to join its design and production team. This role suits someone with strong SolidWorks experience who can bridge the gap between design intent and manufacture, working closely with CNC production and workshop teams.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing detailed technical drawings, 3D models, and production-ready data for high-end bespoke joinery projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings for Joinery using SolidWorks
  • Develop and manage parametric models for bespoke joinery and furniture
  • Work with SWOOD (SolidWorks plug-in) to create CNC-ready outputs, assemblies, and part data
  • Translate design concepts into manufacturable solutions
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure drawings align with workshop and CNC requirements
  • Maintain and improve CAD standards, templates, and workflows
  • Assist with resolving technical and production issues through design optimisation
  • Support continuous improvement of digital manufacturing processes

Requirements / Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks
  • Experience in a joinery, cabinetry, furniture, or manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of SWOOD (or similar SolidWorks-based woodworking/CNC plug-ins)
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate technical drawings for manufacture
  • Good understanding of materials, fixings, and joinery construction methods
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
