As an Adaptive consultant, you will be supported by the Simmons & Simmons team with a sponsoring Partner and a client team.

Main purpose of the role:

Simmons Adaptive is keen to hear from Funds lawyers with between 2 and 5 years' PQE interested in flexible consultancy opportunities. We are currently working with two investment managers looking for junior support for a period of 3-6 months.

Assignments may include:

  • Supporting the establishment and launch of investment funds
  • Advising on fund formation and structuring matters
  • Drafting and negotiating fund documentation
  • Assisting with investor negotiations and side letters
  • Supporting regulatory and governance matters affecting fund vehicles
  • Advising business stakeholders on day-to-day funds legal issues
  • Working closely with internal legal, compliance and business teams

Person specification:

  • You are a qualified lawyer with 2-5 years' PQE gained at a leading law firm and/or in-house legal team.
  • You will have experience advising on a broad range of funds matters, ideally including fund formation, fund documentation and ongoing fund operations.
  • You are a problem solver and offer a collaborative approach.
  • You are able to work in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
  • You can work quickly and effectively to tight deadlines.
  • You have excellent organisation skills with the ability to effectively prioritise workloads.
  • You can work autonomously but also collaborate as part of the wider team.
  • You will be required to hold the relevant right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
