As an Adaptive consultant, you will be fully supported by the Simmons & Simmons team with a sponsoring Partner and a client team with whom we would encourage you to engage on a regular basis. You will have access to the firm's resources and know-how and have the opportunity to be involved in training and development at the Firm.
Main purpose of the role: Simmons Adaptive are keen to hear mid to senior level lawyers who have strong commercial contracts experience preferably with a real estate or construction background. This is to support a client in the data centre space and so experience and evidence of having worked in a fast-paced environment and dealing with private equity/funds investors for reporting would be useful. This is a project role starting in May 2026 for up to 4 months.
- Negotiating and advising on Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
- Supporting acquisition agreements to secure power connection permits
- Advising on easements and associated land rights
- Providing leasing support where required
- Supporting commercial contract negotiations linked to data centre development
- Liaising with internal teams and external advisers
- Contribution to reporting and discussions with stakeholders
Person specification:
- You are a mid-senior level lawyer with experience working in-house.
- You have strong commercial contracts experience with a real estate or construction angle.
- You are a problem solver and offer a collaborative approach.
- You are able to work in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
- You are able to work quickly and effectively to tight deadlines.
- You have excellent organisation skills with the ability to effectively prioritise workloads.
- You can work autonomously but can also collaborate as part of the wider team.
- You will be required to hold the relevant right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
