As an Adaptive consultant, you will be fully supported by the Simmons & Simmons team with a sponsoring Partner and a client team with whom we encourage you to engage regularly. Main purpose of the role:
Simmons Adaptive is keen to hear from Funds lawyers with between 2 and 5 years' PQE who are interested in flexible consultancy opportunities with our clients. We are currently working with two investment managers who are keen to bring on junior support for a period of 3-6 months. We are also seeing increasing demand from a range of financial services clients, including asset managers, investment managers and other regulated institutions.
Assignments may include:
- Supporting the establishment and launch of investment funds
- Advising on fund formation and structuring matters
- Drafting and negotiating fund documentation
- Assisting with investor negotiations and side letters
- Supporting regulatory and governance matters affecting fund vehicles
- Advising business stakeholders on day-to-day funds legal issues
- Working closely with internal legal, compliance and business teams
Person specification:
- You are a qualified lawyer with 2-5 years' PQE gained at a leading law firm and/or in-house legal team.
- You will have experience advising on a broad range of funds matters, ideally including fund formation, fund documentation and ongoing fund operations.
- You are a problem solver and offer a collaborative approach.
- You are able to work in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
- You are able to work quickly and effectively to tight deadlines.
- You have excellent organisation skills with the ability to effectively prioritise workloads.
- You can work autonomously but can also collaborate as part of the wider team.
- You will be required to hold the relevant right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
