Many of our lawyers bring prior sector experience and regularly engage on site, enabling us to provide genuinely practical and commercially grounded advice. We support clients at every stage of the project lifecycle, including the structuring, negotiation and delivery of construction contracts for some of the most complex developments in the UK and internationally.
The team is also recognised for its leading work in transformation of UK building safety laws, major mixed-use and high-rise schemes, the brown to green trend in office refurbishment and retrofit, large-scale ESG-driven development and regeneration, and advising on innovative procurement structures and first-of-a-kind project models. The team also has significant experience in the design, procurement and delivery of mission-critical data centre facilities.
You will work closely with market-leading lawyers who are recognised experts in non-contentious construction, advising on major development and regeneration projects, funder-side construction risk, institutional investment mandates and complex contract suites. The team is known for its work on building safety compliance, innovative project structures and large-scale development schemes across commercial, residential and mixed-use sectors.
The Role Responsibilities
As a Supervising Associate, you will play a central role in delivering strategic, commercially focused advice across a wide range of development and regeneration projects.
- Work with a diverse client base that includes developers, funders, asset and investment managers, contractors and end users.
- Provide practical and forward-looking guidance throughout the full lifecycle of construction and real estate development matters.
- Advise on the negotiation of construction contracts (including standard JCT amendments), professional appointments and warranties, provide construction due diligence on real estate transactions, and contribute to the negotiation of development agreements.
- Support clients in managing construction risk, navigate complex legislative change - including the evolving building safety regime - and ensure projects meet commercial and sustainability goals.
- Manage your own matters with appropriate supervision, collaborate with market-leading partners and senior lawyers on major UK and international developments, and work with colleagues across Real Estate, Funds, Projects, Finance and Disputes.
- Supervise junior team members, contribute to business development, and play an active part in the continued growth of a nationally integrated, highly regarded practice.

Qualifications
- Around 4-6 years' post-qualified experience, gained within a leading City, national or regional firm.
- Strong non-contentious construction expertise, including negotiating construction contracts (with standard JCT amendments), appointments and warranties, providing construction due diligence on real estate transactions, and contributing to the negotiation of development agreements.
- A proactive, commercial and solutions-driven approach, with a genuine commitment to working collaboratively as part of a "one team" culture.
- Excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic advice to clients.
- A strong academic background and the ability to manage a varied, high-quality workload with confidence and independence.
