We are looking for a Senior Legal Engineer to join our Legal Operations department in either our Bristol, Cambridge or London office.

What will you do:

  • Play an instrumental role in embedding generative AI in the firm, with a focus on promoting the adoption of the firm’s internal tool Percy and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Provide complex prompt engineering support to our firm’s lawyers on client matters.
  • Act as the AI expert for client projects, working with multi-disciplinary teams, including data scientists and data engineers.
  • Deliver training on Percy and Microsoft Copilot internally in the firm.
  • Deliver bespoke, tailored AI training sessions and consultancy to key clients.
  • Bridge the gap between the firm’s lawyers and the Percy development team by interpreting and translating legal requirements into technical language, ensuring the platform continues to cater to the firm’s legal work.
  • Play an active role in developing the firm’s agentic programme and products, contributing to the wider strategy, non-technical development and design of agents.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the firm, including the AI Champions.
  • Upskill AI Champions to ensure they are equipped to act as the first line AI support for their legal teams.
  • Build greater recognition and awareness of the firm’s generative AI capabilities by contributing to industry events, hackathons, producing written pieces or similar.
  • Play an active role in the design, planning and execution of client projects as part of an agile multi-functional team.
  • Proactively keep up to date with the legal AI market, with a focus on Generative AI (including model and other technical developments) and Agents, and maintain a thorough understanding of the biggest market players and technologies.

What we are looking for:

  • Has 5+ years of experience working in the legal sector, preferably with a focus on AI and tech.
  • Has a deep understanding of AI-driven legal tools and their application in the legal sector.
  • Has and can demonstrate a deep understanding of legal work including what lawyers do on a day-to-day basis and how they work.
  • Understands the complexities of embedding technology, in particular AI, in a law firm, including the key risks and concerns both our lawyers and clients have in this space.
  • Has excellent skills in developing polished and visually appealing presentation decks, and has a strong ability to craft compelling narratives that effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Has experience working with legal processes, data, design or technology.
  • Has excellent listening skills, and an ability to summarise complex information.
  • Thrives in a team environment, wants to be part of a diverse and inclusive team and has great interpersonal and strong communication skills.
  • Can multitask and is proactive when it comes to projects; displays a willingness to understand the client’s needs.
  • Has excellent stakeholder management skills and can communicate advanced concepts clearly to a diverse range of stakeholders.
