Main purpose of the role: Simmons Adaptive are looking for a financial services regulatory and sustainability lawyer to support the trading and shipping business for a client in London. Day to day duties to include: Advise on impact of UK and EU financial services regulation to regulated and unregulated entities including: MIFID, EMIR, SMCR, IFD / IFR Work across jurisdictions to advise on refined products trading including marketing, anti-bribery and corruption restrictions Provide regulatory support to front office on day to day transactions ensuring compliance with FS regulations Creating and maintaining regulatory know-how The client is seeking someone full-time with hybrid working available. This assignment is due to start in January or February 2025. Person specification: You are a qualified lawyer with financial services regulatory experience. Previous relevant regulatory experience applicable to commodity and commodity derivatives trading. Knowledge of greenwashing and other ESG related risks. You will have strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate complex analysis in a clear and concise manner. You are able to work quickly and effectively to tight deadlines. You can work autonomously but can also collaborate as part of the wider team. You will be required to hold the relevant right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship is not available).
