The role: Simmons & Simmons is on the lookout for a talented and motivated Full Stack Developer to join our pioneering technology team. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) to revolutionise the legal tech landscape. The ideal candidate will be collaborating closely with our data scientists, engineers and infrastructure developers to prototype, build, test, and deploy end-to-end products powered by GenAI/LLM technology on a large scale. The candidate should ensure seamless integration and functionality across the entire stack. This role requires a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end technologies, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating robust and scalable applications.

What will you do:

  • Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end components of web applications.
  • Collaborate with product owners and designers to create user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Write and verify code which adheres to the acceptance criteria including following of product development best practices.
  • Implement cloud-based solutions and manage DevOps processes to ensure efficient deployment and operation of applications.
  • Work as part of the Development Team in a Scrum/Agile way of working.
  • Estimate size of backlog items, translation of backlog items into engineering design and logical units of work (tasks) and implementation of these backlog items.
  • Change Control; from requests for change (RFC) through to implementation and review, to support the continued availability, effectiveness and safety of the product.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI/ML product user interface trends, evaluating and incorporating them into our projects to maintain our competitive edge.

What we are looking for:

  • A solid background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience.
  • A strong track record, with 3+ years, of building enterprise-grade web app applications, preference of LLM facing development.
  • Strong proficiency in backend technologies such as Python and relevant frameworks (FAST API, Flask), and experience with database (e.g. GraphDB, CosmosDB, SQL).
  • Experience in developing and maintaining server-side logic and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.
  • Strong coding skills in React framework, JavaScript/Typescript, HTML, CSS, and use of API calls to a backend/APIM.
  • Experience in applying UI/UX best practices, producing multiple wireframes and design options to support decision-making of the product owners.
  • Experience working with APIs for Large Language Models (LLM)/GenAI technology like OpenAI, Claude, etc.
  • Experience working on the Azure platform to cater the development lifecycle.
