We regularly act in court proceedings, adjudications, mediations and international arbitrations.We work closely with specialists across the firm, including our non-contentious construction and real estate colleagues, to identify and advise on professional risk issues within the construction industry including regulatory change and the associated risks for the construction and insurance sectors.**Our core services include:*** Arbitrations* Expert Determinations* Large Scale Adjudications* Litigation* Mediations, Conciliations and other ADR processes.**The Role**As part of the on-going expansion of our construction disputes team we are seeking to recruit a Supervising Associate to work on construction litigation and/or arbitration and adjudications.You’ll need to be dynamic and motivated by the challenges of working on the most complex of disputes with within a collegiate and supportive team environment.The client base of the team is diverse including acting for and against construction professionals, employers and contractors on a mix of transport, engineering, energy and infrastructure projects in the UK and around the world. Prior experience of working with such a diverse group will be advantageous.The existing team has significant expertise in the NEC and FIDIC form of contract while also advising on most of the other standard forms. A good working knowledge of NEC and FIDIC is essential and some exposure to other forms would be a significant advantage.A thorough and current working knowledge of the TCC and adjudication is essential. A good understanding of arbitration is also advantageous and exposure to international rules such as ICC, LCIA and UCTA will be particularly beneficial. An understanding of the international legal landscape and experience of enforcement in foreign jurisdictions would be beneficial in addition.**Person specification*** Applicants should ideally have 3-6 years’ post qualified experience in construction disputes.* We would expect applicants to have worked for a leading law firm for insurance and/or construction work.
