Our Client Simmons & Hanbury are exclusively mandated on a search for a junior or mid-level Banking & Finance lawyer to join a leading international bank on an interim basis. The role will work alongside three experienced in-house lawyers who will be great to learn from and collaborate with. They are open to candidates who are looking to make their first move in-house or those who trained at another financial institution. The role will be working from their Central London office five days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support on a broad range of banking and finance transactions, including syndicated lending, bilateral loans, trade finance and real estate finance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan documentation, security agreements, and related contracts.
  • Advise on regulatory requirements and market standards affecting banking operations.
  • Support the business on cross-border matters in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
  • Contribute to legal risk management and ensure compliance with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the bank as part of a small, collaborative, and high-performing legal team.

Experience Required

  • Qualified lawyer in the UK with 3/4 years+ post-qualification experience.
  • Strong technical expertise in banking and finance law, gained within a leading law firm or financial institution.
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle a variety of financing structures.
  • Experience advising on regulatory considerations relevant to banking would be advantageous.
  • Desire to learn and develop under the guidance of an experienced and highly supportive manager.
