Senior Legal Counsel, Global Investment Management Firm

Our client

Our client is a leading Global Investment Management firm. They are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to work within a small and busy team of senior in-house lawyers. The individual carrying out this role will support the investment, operational and governance activities of the firm supporting stakeholders across all levels of seniority.

Key responsibilities

• Reviewing and advising on investment management agreements and any other related fund documentation.
• Reviewing, negotiating and advising on contracts specific to investing and trading in public markets and securities (such as, counterparty terms of business, trading master agreements, securities lending agreements and custody agreements)
• Advising on transactions relating to private investments
• Reviewing, negotiating and advising on a broad range of service provider contracts relating to the firm’s operations, infrastructure and technology framework.
• Ad-Hoc regulatory advice as required.

Experience requirements:

• A solicitor with between 6 and 10 years’ post-qualification experience
• The successful candidate will have an in-house background working in financial services, ideally on the buyside.
• Experience in alternatives and/or fund establishment and management would also be beneficial.
• A strong academic background (at least a Bachelor’s degree), with solicitor training completed in a top tier law firm.
