Litigation Counsel - Litigation Funding

Our client:

S&H have been exclusively instructed by a boutique financial services firm on a Litigation Counsel position, reporting to the General Counsel, focusing on identifying high quality cases that will make good investments. You will ideally have significant dispute resolution experience and an ability to quickly understand and assess new and complex projects with unfamiliar subject matter. The role requires a combination of excellence in both legal and strategic analysis and commercial awareness.

Key responsibilities:

• Carrying out detailed legal and commercial and assessment and due diligence
• Analysing legal documents, counsels’ opinions, strategy documents, quantum reports
• Instructing and directing external experts, including counsel, quantum experts, assets tracing, and forensics experts

Experience requirements:

• Post qualification experience of 2 – 5+ years
• Be admitted in England & Wales or another common law jurisdiction
• Have the right to live and work independently in the UK
• Experience in a commercial litigation, commercial arbitration or contentious insolvency team or a disputes team of a similar nature
• Hands-on experience on a wide variety of disputes involving high levels of responsibility
• Proven ability to handle a significant case load and keep projects moving
• Real interest in varied, complex and multi-jurisdictional disputes
