Job Description
Simmons & Hanbury have been exclusively instructed by an international bank on a Leveraged Finance legal role at VP level to sit within the Transaction Management function. This team work specifically with Corporates and have been growing the amount of transactions that they support on as the leading bank. They're looking for a lawyer who enjoys being client facing would be interested in supporting with pitches.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal support on a wide range of leveraged finance transactions, including syndicated loans, acquisition finance, and refinancing.
- Draft, review, and negotiate loan documentation, security packages, intercreditor agreements, and commitment papers.
- Advise on structuring and execution of cross-border financings in collaboration with business, credit, and risk teams.
- Support business teams and senior stakeholders across the bank in delivering complex, high-value transactions.
Experience requirements
- Qualified lawyer with 4+ years’ post-qualification experience.
- Trained and qualified within the Banking & Finance (or equivalent) practice of a leading law firm with experience within leveraged finance transactions
- Ideally in-house experience at another bank (either through a secondment or full-time role)
- Excellent technical skills in drafting and negotiating complex loan and financing agreements.
- Willing and able to take ownership of deals, to liaise with senior stakeholders and to attend client pitches were required
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to deliver pragmatic, business-focused legal advice.
- Collaborative team player with the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and external counsel.
