About Us

Simmer is a meal delivery service built on a simple idea: healthy food should taste extraordinary.

Founded by brothers Simmy and Jhai with £10 of ingredients, the business has grown into one of the UK’s most compelling consumer startups and the 5th fastest-growing company in the Sunday Times 100, serving tens of thousands of loyal customers.

We’re now a profitable, bootstrapped and rapidly scaling business with a clear ambition: to become the defining brand in healthy eating.

Simmer is still fully founder-led.

There are no private-equity layers or corporate distance between the people doing the work and the people making the decisions.

The founders remain deeply involved in the business, set a high bar and move quickly.

For the people who join, that means real ownership, close exposure to decision-making and the chance to work on problems that genuinely matter.

We’re now hiring a

Talent Partner to help build the team behind Simmer’s next stage of growth.

The Role

This role would suit someone currently working in agency recruitment who has strong foundations and is ready for a steeper learning curve.

You’ll work closely with our founders, Head of People and hiring managers across the business to identify exceptional people, shape hiring strategies and build high-performing teams.

Some days you’ll be building a pipeline for a critical hire.

Other days you’ll be refining a role brief, challenging assumptions or helping a hiring manager think differently about the problem they are trying to solve.

Most days, you’ll be speaking to strong candidates, assessing what they could bring to Simmer and persuading the right people that this is the place to do their best work.

The common thread is simple: helping the business solve problems through people.

This is a broad, end-to-end recruitment role with significant ownership and room to grow.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Find exceptional people
  • Build and manage high-quality talent pipelines
  • Proactively identify and engage strong candidates
  • Run thoughtful, high-signal screening conversations
  • Manage processes from first contact through to offer
  • Deliver an excellent candidate experience
  • Build long-term relationships with people we may want to hire in the future
  • Help the business hire well
  • Partner closely with founders and hiring managers
  • Shape role briefs, search strategies and candidate profiles
  • Challenge assumptions and bring market insight
  • Improve interview processes and assessment quality
  • Support hiring decisions with clear judgement and evidence
  • Help managers understand what good looks like in the market
  • Build better ways of working
  • Improve recruitment processes and systems
  • Develop talent-mapping projects
  • Build useful reporting and market insight
  • Continuously improve the candidate experience
  • Help scale the talent function as the business grows
  • Bring new ideas into Simmer and improve how we hire
  • Stay close to the market
  • Understand competitor hiring activity
  • Spot emerging trends and shifts in candidate behaviour
  • Build insight into talent pools, salaries and market availability
  • Share useful market intelligence with the wider business
  • We’d Love to Hear From You If
  • You’re one of the people your manager relies on.
  • You spot quality early, build strong relationships naturally and consistently find ways to outperform expectations.
  • You’re curious about people, teams and businesses. When a company launches a new product, changes strategy or says it needs to hire someone, your instinct is to understand why.
  • You enjoy figuring things out.
  • You ask good questions.
  • You challenge assumptions.
  • You notice patterns others miss.
  • You understand that great hiring is not about filling jobs. It is about helping a business solve meaningful problems through people.
  • And you care more about becoming exceptional than looking impressive.
  • You’ll Likely Have
  • Around 1-3 years of recruitment experience, ideally in an agency environment
  • A strong track record of delivering consistently good work
  • Experience sourcing and engaging passive candidates
  • Strong emotional intelligence and sound judgement
  • High standards and close attention to detail
  • The ability to move quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Confidence forming your own opinions
  • The humility to change your view when presented with better information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A genuine interest in business, not just recruitment

Why Join Simmer?

The environment here is fast, direct and constantly evolving.

There will not always be a perfect brief.

There will not always be a playbook.

There will not always be someone telling you exactly what to do next.

That is part of the attraction.

You’ll gain exposure to founder-level hiring, senior decision-making and business building much earlier than you would in most companies.

You’ll work across every part of the organisation and help shape the team behind Simmer’s next stage of growth. This is not a soft landing out of agency recruitment.

It is an opportunity to take the pace, resilience and commercial instinct you have already developed and apply them inside one of the UK’s most ambitious consumer businesses.

If you’re excited by steep learning curves, real ownership and the opportunity to become genuinely excellent at talent, we’d love to hear from you.
