About Simmer
We're Simmer Eats, one of Europe's fastest-growing food brands. We've grown 10x in the last year, and we're building the next phase of scale on a modern commerce and technology stack. Our mission is simple: make healthy eating effortless. High-protein, great-tasting meals delivered straight to customers' doors, powered by technology that actually scales.
If you're a commercially minded, hands-on Full Stack Engineer who wants real ownership, real impact, and the chance to shape a platform at a critical inflection point, this role is for you.
Why This Role?
- You'll help shape how our entire commerce stack works together as we migrate and scale.
- You'll operate across frontend, backend, and integrations, solving real-world problems, not just tickets.
- You'll work in a fast-moving, high-growth environment where decisions are made quickly and good ideas win.
- No red tape. No endless approvals. Just meaningful responsibility and visible impact.
What You'll Be Doing
- Building & Scaling: Lead development across our Shopify-based commerce platform, building robust, scalable features across frontend, backend, and integrations.
- Full Stack Ownership: Work end-to-end across the stack, from storefront experiences to APIs, third-party services, and internal integrations.
- Optimising Performance: Continually improve site speed, reliability, and conversion across the customer journey, from landing pages through checkout.
- Solving Real Problems: Partner closely with e-commerce, marketing, and operations teams to build solutions that drive revenue and improve customer experience.
- Systems & Integrations: Build and maintain integrations with payments, fulfilment, analytics, and other third-party platforms, ensuring everything works together cleanly and reliably.
- Technical Leadership: Contribute to architectural decisions, raise engineering standards, and help shape how we build as the platform evolves.
- Migration Collaboration: Work alongside the existing dev team during our platform migration, helping ensure a smooth, well-executed transition.
Who We're Looking For
- 5+ years' experience as a full stack engineer, with strong experience building production e-commerce systems.
- Solid Shopify experience, including Liquid, Online Store 2.0, theme architecture, and Shopify APIs.
- Strong frontend skills: JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS/SCSS, responsive design.
- Backend experience working with APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations (Node.js or similar experience a plus).
- Comfortable working across multiple systems and understanding how data and events flow between them.
- Experience supporting or contributing to a platform migration or major re-architecture is highly beneficial.
- Performance-minded: you care about speed, reliability, and scalability.
- Commercially aware: you understand how technical decisions impact conversion, revenue, and growth.
- Self-driven and accountable — you don't wait to be told what to fix.
- Strong communicator who collaborates well across technical and non-technical teams.
What You'll Get
- Ownership & Impact - real responsibility, real influence.
- Flexibility - work where and when you're most productive.
- Growth - as Simmer scales, so will your role.
- Delicious Perks - discounted Simmer meals (naturally).
- A Winning Culture - we move fast, learn quickly, and celebrate progress.
