About Us
Simmer is a meal delivery service built on a simple idea: healthy food should taste extraordinary. Founded by brothers Simmy and Jhai with £10 of ingredients, the business has grown into one of the UK’s most compelling consumer startups and the fastest-growing food business in Europe (Financial Times 1000 List), with a rapidly scaling loyal customer base of subscribers, and a product that people don't just buy once, they build their lives around. We’re not a startup finding its feet. We’re a business with serious momentum and a clear ambition: to become the defining brand in healthy eating.
This is a fully founder led business with no private equity or corporate layers. The founders still run the company, set the standard, and are present in the work. For those that join Simmer, you will operate with real authority, in direct proximity to the people driving the business, on problems that actually move the numbers.
We are a subscription business at our core, which means growth here isn't about one-off conversion. It’s about acquisition quality, retention curves, LTV, cohort economics, and the compounding effect of getting all of it right simultaneously. It is commercially demanding, analytically rigorous, and moves fast.
We have scaled with a deliberately lean team. That is not a constraint, it is a philosophy. We’re now building the team that takes the business to the next level and are looking for people who want to be part of something at the point where it compounds.
The Role
You’ll work directly with the founders on the highest priority problems in the business. There isn’t a fixed scope. The problems change depending on where the business needs attention. The expectation is that you can pick things up quickly, get to the core of the issue, and drive a solution. One week you might be building the commercial model for a new market entry. The next, diagnosing a retention problem, rearchitecting a growth channel, or presenting a strategic recommendation to the founding team. The shape shifts. The standard doesn’t.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Work directly with the founders on high-priority commercial and strategic projects, from framing the problem to delivering the solution
- Dig into data, customer behaviour and business performance to surface insights that drive real decisions
- Lead end-to-end projects across growth, CRM, product, commercial and operations - owning outcomes, not just outputs
- Build the frameworks, models and processes that help a fast-scaling business make better decisions faster
- Identify new opportunities - markets, channels, partnerships and take them from hypothesis to validated action
- Present findings directly to founders. Defend your thinking. Know when you’re wrong.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ve come through a high-calibre environment, investment banking, management consulting, a high-intensity scaleup and you’ve performed. You’re 2-4 years in. You’re on an upward trajectory. But you want more surface area. More ownership. More consequence.
You’re the person who, when given a brief, doesn’t just answer the question, you find the better question underneath it. You’re comfortable with ambiguity because you’ve learned that the absence of a clear answer is just an invitation to go find one. You move fast and you hold yourself to a high standard, not because someone’s watching, but because you know the difference between work that’s done and work that’s good.
Specifically:
- Strong academic record from a top tier university (Oxbridge, LSE, UCL, Imperial, Warwick, or equivalent)
- 2-4 years at a high-calibre firm (banking, consulting, or a genuinely rigorous scaleup environment with clear evidence of fast progression)
- Sharp analytical thinking that connects numbers to real-world outcomes
- High ownership mentality. You identify the problem, you own the fix, and you don’t let things slip
- Confident, clear communicator, you can distil complexity into a crisp narrative and hold your own in a room with founders
- Comfortable with pace, direct feedback, and environments where the brief evolves
You’ll be working directly on the problems that matter most in a business that is scaling quickly. There is real exposure, real ownership, and very little distance between you and the decisions being made.
If you want a role where you can have disproportionate impact early, this is that. If this sounds like the right place for you, APPLY NOW!
