Simkiss Recruitment Solutions are pleased to be supporting a highly professional and expanding property organisation in their search for an experienced Credit Controller to join their Birmingham-based finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and personable finance professional to take ownership of a busy credit control function within a business that prides itself on delivering a high standard of customer service and maintaining strong client relationships.
Working closely with the Head of Accounts and wider operational teams, the Credit Controller will be responsible for proactively managing outstanding balances and ensuring arrears are handled in an efficient, professional and commercially minded manner. The role will involve:
- Communicating with Leaseholders and Landlords via telephone, email and written correspondence
- Negotiating payment arrangements where required
- Managing repayment plans
- Liaising with both internal colleagues and external agencies regarding escalated cases
- Supporting reporting processes
- Maintaining accurate records
- Contributing towards the smooth day-to-day running of the wider finance function
The successful candidate will have previous experience within a Credit Control or similar finance-focused position and will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills. You will be highly organised, confident managing multiple cases and comfortable handling sensitive conversations in a professional and empathetic manner. Strong attention to detail and the ability to build positive working relationships are essential, alongside good working knowledge of Excel and finance systems. Previous exposure to the property or block management sector would be beneficial but is by no means essential.
