Why this role is important
The Principal SaaS Solution Advisor plays a critical role in supporting the growth of SimCorp's SaaS and SimCorp One offerings across new and existing client opportunities. Working closely with Sales, Account Management, and internal product and delivery teams, you act as a trusted advisor to prospects—guiding them through the strategic, commercial, and operational considerations of adopting a cloud‑hosted, managed investment management platform.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Discovery & Scoping
- Engage prospects in structured discovery to understand their operating model, technology estate, regulatory environment, and strategic priorities.
- Translate functional and non‑functional requirements into an indicative SaaS or SimCorp One solution scope, covering platform configuration, data services, connectivity, and managed service boundaries.
- Identify and document client–specific pain points and map them to SimCorp differentiators—including the SimCorp One open platform model, continuous delivery, and the reduced total cost of ownership relative to on‑premise alternatives.
- Surface potential fit gaps early and provide structured feedback to Product and SaaS Operations.
- RFPs & Commercial Responses
- Lead or contribute to RFP responses for SaaS and SimCorp One opportunities, focusing on deployment model, service levels, data residency, security posture, and total cost of ownership.
- Articulate the SaaS and SimCorp One commercial model clearly—subscription structure, included services, upgrade inclusion, and open ecosystem positioning—in a way that resonates with procurement, finance, and technology stakeholders.
- Build and maintain a knowledge base of SaaS and SimCorp One RFP responses, keeping content current and aligned with contractual and operational commitments.
- Workshops, Scoping & Solution Validation
- Plan and deliver tailored workshops, scoping sessions, and architecture design discussions that help prospects understand the SimCorp One SaaS operating model, deployment approach, and managed service boundaries.
- Prepare and present compelling service descriptions, solution presentations, and platform overviews—adapting content and depth to the audience, from operational teams to C‑level stakeholders.
- Design and facilitate workshops covering topics such as the shared responsibility model, release management, environment strategy, and the SimCorp One partner and data ecosystem.
- Where appropriate, support Solution Validation engagements, defining scope and success criteria aligned to the prospect's decision framework.
- SimCorp One & SaaS Proposition
- Develop and maintain deep knowledge of SimCorp One—its open platform architecture, API‑first design, partner integrations, and the strategic direction of moving clients from on‑premise deployments toward a composable, cloud‑native operating model.
- Articulate clearly how SimCorp One differs from traditional SaaS delivery: the ability to connect third‑party solutions, consume data services, and operate within a broader fintech ecosystem while retaining SimCorp Dimension as the investment book of record.
- Engage confidently with CTO, COO, and CIO‑level stakeholders on cloud strategy, platform extensibility, vendor dependency, and the long‑term operating model implications of the SimCorp One platform.
- Understand and articulate the value of SimCorp One Neo—SimCorp's embedded AI layer—including its agentic workflows, prompt library, and human‑in‑the‑loop design, and position these capabilities as part of the broader SaaS and SimCorp One value proposition in client conversations.
How You Contribute To The Team
- Partner closely with Sales Specialists and Account Management to ensure consistent and compelling messaging to prospects and business partners.
- Provide feedback on competitive positioning and product gaps based on prospect and market insights.
- Coordinate with broader presales and delivery colleagues to ensure continuity and quality across the opportunity lifecycle.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of SaaS and SimCorp One Solution Advisory tooling, decks and material.
What We Value
Most importantly, you see yourself thriving in the role described above. How you acquired the relevant skills matters less than your ability and willingness to apply them and continue learning.
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in investment management technology, in a presales, solution advisory, or senior implementation capacity.
- Deep understanding of buy‑side operating models across asset managers, asset owners, insurance companies, or wealth managers—including front‑to‑back investment workflows, data management, and the pressures driving technology transformation.
- Fluency in industry trends such as fee compression, the shift to alternatives, T+1 settlement, cloud adoption, and evolving regulatory frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of SimCorp Dimension, SimCorp One, or competing front‑to‑back investment management platforms.
- Experience operating in complex, consultative, multi‑stakeholder sales environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging from operational to C‑level audiences.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and standard sales tooling.
- Comfort working with AI tools and a demonstrated ability to adopt and apply emerging technologies and methods—translating new capabilities into practical value in a client‑facing context.
