Private markets are being transformed — and you could be at the center of it. The gap between institutional grade private market tools and the technology that powers them has never been bigger. Trillions of dollars flow through private equity, venture capital, private credit, and real assets, yet the software managing this capital often lags a decade behind. SimCorp is changing that. We're a fast-growing fintech company on a mission to modernize the private market ecosystem for institutional investors with cross-asset portfolios.

As a key component of product management for Private Markets, you will own the product strategy and execution alongside our engineering team. You will sit at the intersection of finance and technology translating the intricate workflows of private market professionals into intuitive, powerful software that delights users and drives business outcomes. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role. You'll work directly with the leadership, clients, market participants, engineering, sales and go-to-market teams, and you'll have real ownership over a product area that is central to our company's growth. You will shape the roadmap, define priorities, and rally a talented team of engineers and designers around a shared vision.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Orchestrate high-stakes product demonstrations, executive roundtables, and client conferences to evangelize the solution and secure stakeholder buy-in across diverse audiences.
  • Define, own and evolve the product roadmap for our private markets platform, balancing short-term customer needs with long-term strategic vision.
  • Be the primary point of contact, the go-to person for private markets and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategically own, manage and prioritize the product backlog in lockstep with Leadership, balancing technical debt with high-value strategic investments to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Deeply immerse yourself in the workflows of private markets - conducting interviews, shadowing users, and synthesizing feedback into actionable insights.
  • Write crisp, well-reasoned product specifications and work hand-in-hand with engineering and design to ship high-quality features on time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to author comprehensive user features and stories, establishing rigorous acceptance criteria to ensure all deliverables meet 'Definition of Ready' and 'Definition of Done' standards in the acceptance of deliverables.
  • Define success metrics for every initiative and use data to evaluate outcomes, iterate quickly, and communicate results to stakeholders.
  • Partner with Sales and Customer Success to understand market gaps, competitive dynamics, and the evolving needs of our customer base.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to integrate AI and automation into core workflows — making complex workflows faster, smarter, and more reliable.
  • Drive alignment across cross-functional teams, ensuring clarity on priorities, tradeoffs, and the 'why' behind every decision.
  • Stay ahead of regulatory developments, market trends, and competitive shifts in the private markets technology landscape.
  • Represent the voice of the customer in every product decision — advocating relentlessly for user experience without sacrificing business viability.

Who You Are

You're not just a product manager, you're a private market expert who happens to love building software. You've spent time in or around private markets and you feel the pain points firsthand. You're the kind of person who gets genuinely excited when you see a workflow for the first time and immediately start mentally redesigning it. You are rigorous in your thinking, persuasive in your communication, and relentless in your follow-through. You thrive in ambiguity. You can take a messy problem, break it down into its component parts, and build consensus around a path forward without needing every answer handed to you. You care about craft: a half-built feature or a confusing UX genuinely bothers you. And you're a collaborator at heart, you know that great products are built by great teams, and you know how to bring out the best in the people around you.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • 5+ years product management experience, with at least 2 years in B2B SaaS or fintech.
  • Meaningful exposure to private markets, whether through prior work at a PE firm, fund administrator, placement agent, LP, or financial software company serving these markets.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully launching products and features that users love and that drive measurable business results.
  • Strong understanding of private asset structures, capital calls, distributions, investor reporting, and related workflows.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — you can write a tight one-pager and present to a room of skeptical executives with equal confidence.
  • Proficiency in working with data: you're comfortable analyzing usage metrics and building dashboards to support your decisions.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering teams in an agile environment; familiarity with modern development practices is a plus.
  • High EQ and the ability to build trust quickly with customers, engineers, and senior leadership alike.
  • A genuine curiosity about technology and its role in reshaping financial services.
  • Experience engaging proactively with clients and stakeholders to solicit input for user stories.
  • Broad knowledge of the Alternative Investment marketplace and system vendors.
  • Experience with SimCorp Dimension (advantageous but not required).
  • Proven track record in roles such as Product Manager, Product Owner, Engineering, Business Analyst, Project Manager, or Consultant within software development.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills focused on business outcomes and complete product offers.
  • Ability to encourage, motivate, and influence teams and peers; contribute to improvements across the community.
  • Understanding of how great products are built and deliver value to clients.
  • Creative and inquisitive mindset with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
