We are a dynamic and growing operations organisation looking to bring onboard a highly capable Fleet & Operations Manager to lead, optimise and grow our vehicle and people resources across transport and commercial workshop functions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong experience in fleet performance, staff leadership and operational excellence to take a key role managing a diverse team and range of activities.
We manage high-volume transport operations alongside commercial repair, MOT and bodyshop activities, and are seeking someone who thrives on multi-discipline leadership and operational improvement.
Role Overview
As Fleet & Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the effective leadership and performance of our vehicle fleet and associated teams including workshop, maintenance and operations staff.
- Fleet availability, maintenance and compliance
- Performance development and coaching of staff
- Recruitment and development of new team members
- Operational improvements across transport and workshop functions
- KPI setting, reporting and accountability frameworks
- Safety, compliance and cost-effective asset management
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in fleet management, transport operations, or workshop leadership
- Strong people-management capabilities - recruitment, coaching, performance appraisal
- Experience driving performance improvements and KPI accountability
- Commercial awareness and problem-solving focus
- Confident communicator with stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and evolving environment
- Full UK driving licence
Candidates with experience in commercial vehicle fleets, MOT & workshop environments or logistics/operations management will be highly regarded.
Salary & Package Options
- Option A: Mid-Level / Growth Package: Base salary from £35,000 per year, Quarterly performance bonus £3,750 (£15,000 per year potential), Company car or car allowance, Workplace pension, annual leave and standard employee benefits
- Option B: Senior / Strategic Package: Higher base salary - market competitive to attract experienced leaders, Enhanced quarterly or annual performance incentives, Company car or enhanced allowance plus benefits, Pension, holidays, professional development support
