Job Title: HGV Class 1 or Class 2 Tramping Driver (Day Driving)

Salary: £39,988 per annum
Additional Pay: Overtime / ADR payments (if qualified) / Overnight payments
Hours: Full Time / 50 hours per week - Tramping (nights out during the week, home Friday or Saturday depending on start day)

We are looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 and Class 2 Tramping Drivers to join our Transport team, based at Witham, Essex.
If you enjoy life on the road but still want your weekends at home, this could be the perfect opportunity! You'll be driving during the day, operating between our Witham and Stoke locations, with overnight stays during the working week and returning home on Friday or Saturday, depending on your start day.

Key Skills and Qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) or HGV Class 2 (C) Licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tacho Card
- Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience essential, ideally including tramping
- Good understanding of vehicle weights, legal limits and load security
- Knowledge of Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive Regulations and Road Traffic Laws
- Understanding of Construction and Use Regulations
- Confident working independently and managing time effectively
- Good communication skills and a professional approach to customer service
- Flexible, reliable and dependable, with a strong commitment to safety
Key duties & Responsibilities:
- Carry out deliveries and collections of customer freight, including regular journeys between Witham and Stoke (Tramping)
- Ensure all goods are safely loaded, secured and transported to minimise damage
- Check the correct goods and quantities are loaded and unloaded
- Plan routes efficiently, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time
- Complete all relevant delivery paperwork and Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation
- Maintain regular communication with the Transport Office, reporting any delays or issues
- Keep your vehicle clean, tidy and well maintained, both inside and out
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and refuelling in line with company procedures
- Maintain high standards of road safety and compliance at all times
