We are looking for experienced and professional HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers with Container collections and deliveries background, to be based out of our Ipswich site. Key Skills and Qualifications to succeed in this role:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tacho Card
- Proven experience in container transport and port operations (Felixstowe experience desirable)
- RHIDES card
- A strong focus on safety and compliance
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer literacy
Key duties & Responsibilities:
- Transporting freight containers to and from ports (including Felixstowe) and Witham
- Carrying out safe, efficient loading and unloading of containers
- Completing direct container and trailer deliveries
- Conducting daily vehicle and trailer checks, ensuring roadworthiness at all times
- Accurately completing pre-drive inspection reports
- Ensuring loads are distributed safely and legally
- Driving responsibly with consideration for other road users and the public
- Maintaining your vehicle to a clean and professional standard
- Following all Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
- Adhering to Company Health & Safety procedures and site safety rules
- Wearing appropriate PPE and reporting any accidents or near misses
