Join some of the most innovative thinkers in FinTech as we lead the evolution of financial technology. If you are an innovative, curious, collaborative person who embraces challenges and wants to grow, learn and pursue outcomes with our prestigious financial clients, say Hello to SimCorp! At its foundation, SimCorp is guided by our values — caring, customer success-driven, collaborative, curious, and courageous. Our people-centered organization focuses on skills development, relationship building, and client success. We take pride in cultivating an environment where all team members can thrive.
Why this role is important to us:
The Business Development Representative (BDR) reports to the EMEA head of Axioma Sales and works very closely with the Axioma sales, pre-sales and marketing teams. Your role would be fundamental, concentrating on the EMEA market. This role offers excellent opportunities for career development with a focus on honing skills to transition into a Sales Manager role.
The primary responsibilities of the BDR are to target, build intelligence and engage with key personas in the region with a remit to identify new business opportunities for the sales team. This person will be responsible for interacting and qualifying new prospects, primarily by phone, social media and email but could extend to face-to-face meetings.
We desire a cooperative professional who brings vitality to their work and prospers in a creative business landscape. Success of the role will be measured by prospect pipeline development in support of new business.
What you will be responsible for
- To discover and qualify opportunities for the sales team to pursue in target accounts, the BDR:
- Effectively initiates communication via the phone, email, social media and interacts with relevant stakeholders to deliver Axioma messages that resonate with the recipient.
- Fine tunes and develops existing scripts and messages.
- Screens, qualifies and nurtures inbound marketing leads using SimCorp’s sales best practices.
- Follows up on inbound marketing leads and inquiries resulting from marketing campaigns to discover if there is a sales opportunity.
- Oversees the invitation process for Axioma promotional activities, ensuring the attraction and retention of prospective and current client interest.
- Enriches, updates and cleans the CRM system SalesForce. Research new contacts and keep accounts and contact information up to date.
- Logs all interaction in SalesForce and uses SalesForce reports to support the work.
- Provides product and solution information to prospective and current customers, keeping up-to-date on knowledge of the industry, as well as competitive posture of the company.
You contribute to the teamwork by:
- Working closely with the Sales and Marketing team to ensure that a consistent message is communicated to our prospects, customers or business partners.
- Providing feedback on marketing campaigns based on information gathered, to contribute to the campaign.
- Supporting sales with appointment setting.
- Entering leads, contacts, intelligence, interaction and maintaining account information in SalesForce in a timely fashion.
And to perform at a high level, the ideal candidate is also expected to:
- Learn and effectively utilise SimCorp selling concepts and techniques.
- Develop and maintain solid knowledge of Axioma, our product offerings, and solution features/benefits.
What we value
Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the position described above. How you gained the skills needed for doing that is less important. We expect you to be good at several of the following and be able to - and interested in - learning the rest.
- Have relevant work experience (2-5 years) in a similar position either at a capital markets firm or at a software solutions provider servicing the buy-side or sell-side markets.
- Possess a basic understanding of capital markets, investment operations and portfolio management systems via studies or a first professional experience. A knowledge of Axioma (or competing) products and services is advantageous.
- Language skills: English and another European language would be advantageous.
- Understand the concept of complex solution selling where a consultancy approach to sales is required.
- Able to make a high volume of outreaches to present ideas and concepts that lead to prospect/client engagements.
- Knowledge of phone, email and conversation techniques needed to identify the person in a company responsible for a specific initiative or business unit.
- Knowledge and experience in using the SalesForce CRM system.
- Advanced PC skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
