Chesterfield | 3 days per week (Tue-Thu) | 12-month fixed-term (with potential to extend)
At Sim & Skills, we support healthcare education and training through the supply of specialist clinical simulation equipment. Behind the scenes, our Operations Team ensures everything runs smoothly from goods arriving at our Warehouse to orders being delivered accurately and on time.
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Operations Assistant to join the team. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys being active, organised, and takes pride in getting things right.
A typical day might look like:
- You’ll start the morning checking in deliveries, making sure everything received matches what was expected and is stored correctly.
- As the day gets underway, you’ll be preparing customer orders - carefully picking, packing, and labelling items so they’re ready for dispatch. Attention to detail is key here; what leaves the Warehouse needs to arrive exactly as intended.
- Throughout the day, you’ll update stock records using our internal systems (don’t worry, full training is provided), helping to keep everything accurate and up to date.
- You’ll work closely with the Operations Manager and wider team, flagging anything that doesn’t look quite right - whether that’s a stock discrepancy or something that could be done more efficiently. And as you get more familiar with how things work, there’s scope to contribute ideas on how we can improve processes and keep the Warehouse running even more smoothly.
What you’ll be doing:
- Pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders
- Receive, check, and store incoming deliveries
- Maintain accurate stock records using internal systems
- Support stock takes and inventory checks
- Keep the warehouse organised, clean, and safe
- Flag any stock issues or discrepancies
- Support day-to-day warehouse operations as required
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or similar environment (or a willingness to learn)
- A practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable using computers and systems
- Reliable, organised, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to handle stock safely
Why join Sim & Skills?

You won’t just be packing boxes - you will be part of a team that keeps the business moving. We value reliability, a positive attitude, and people who want to contribute - not just complete tasks.
- 25 days annual leave (pro-rata) + bank holidays and Christmas shutdown
- Workplace pension
- Free on-site parking
- Opportunities to develop and grow within the role
- Private Healthcare
