DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will work alongside the Sixth Form leadership and teaching team to support them to provide an appropriate learning programme that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfil their academic potential in KS5.

General Requirements

Specific Requirements of the Post

  • Supervise and monitor Sixth Form independent study sessions, tracking attendance.
  • Supervise and monitor Sixth Form independent coursework sessions.
  • Support in the tracking and monitoring of Sixth Form attendance, liaising with the Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Principal for attendance and contacting parents and carers, where necessary.
  • Mentor individual students and support with their future career plans.
  • Contribute to the supervision and organisation of Sixth Form trips and events.
  • Maintain accurate records of student destinations, liaising with students, parents and carers.
  • Cover teacher absence from Sixth Form lessons, as required.

Other Areas of Responsibility

Safeguarding

  • Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education, Prevent) and our safeguarding and child‑protection policies.
  • Work with the DSL to promote the best interests of pupils, including sharing concerns where necessary.
  • Promote the safeguarding of all pupils in the school.

Experience and Knowledge
