We are looking for a passionate and proactive Visitor Experience Manager to join our team on a minimum hours (24 hrs per week) contract on a fixed-term basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering an outstanding, world-class visitor experience at Silverstone Museum.
As Visitor Experience Manager, you will take responsibility for the smooth and safe daily operation of the museum, acting as the senior person on site during your shifts. You will lead and support our front‑of‑house team, ensuring every visitor enjoys a memorable and engaging experience.
Key Responsibilities
Visitor Operations
- Act as a key holder, opening and securing the museum
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures, including building and exhibition checks
- Deliver daily briefings to staff and volunteers
- Supervise and support the front‑of‑house team throughout the day
- Monitor visitor experience, cleanliness, and health & safety standards through regular walkthroughs
- Handle visitor queries, feedback, and complaints professionally
- Maintain team welfare and appearance standards
- Liaise with Silverstone Circuit teams, contractors, cleaning and security staff
- Ensure contractors comply with on‑site procedures
- Support the setup and breakdown of museum event spaces
- Act as the main on‑site contact for venue hire clients
- Coordinate with external catering partners and contractors
- Ensure seamless delivery of events alongside daily operations
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and first aid coverage
- Monitor team performance and provide real‑time coaching
- Support volunteers & employees encouraging a positive team culture
- Communicate operational updates clearly and effectively
Health, Safety & Facilities
- Participate in first aid response and ensure equipment is maintained
- Respond to incidents, complete reports, and escalate where required
- Carry out daily safety checks and log issues
- Lead emergency responses, including evacuations
- Ensure all on‑site activities comply with health & safety regulations

- Has experience in a visitor‑facing, leisure, hospitality, or cultural environment
- Demonstrates strong leadership and team supervision skills
- Is highly organised, proactive, and solutions‑focused
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Can confidently manage operational challenges and make decisions under pressure
