The Strategic Workforce Planning Analyst will play a critical role in optimising Silverstone's diverse workforce structure through comprehensive data analysis and strategic insights. This role will analyse labour data across our 350 permanent employees, 700 zero-hour team members, contractors, agency team members and seasonal team members to identify cost-effective and efficient ways of working that align with operational demands and business objectives. Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, the Strategic Workforce Planning Analyst will leverage the Ubeya workforce management system to provide data-driven recommendations that enhance workforce planning, cost management and resource allocation across our dynamic organisation.

Key Responsibilities- Labour Data Analysis & Insights: Analyse comprehensive labour data from the Ubeya workforce management system to identify trends, patterns and optimisation opportunities across all employment types. Monitor workforce utilisation metrics and efficiency indicators for permanent, zero-hour, contractor and seasonal team members. Develop comprehensive reports and dashboards on labour costs, productivity metrics and resource allocation for senior leadership. Evaluate the effectiveness of current workforce structures and shift patterns against operational requirements.
- Cost Management & Financial Analysis: Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities across different employment types and staffing models. Analyse the financial impact of various workforce configurations and provide data-driven recommendations. Monitor labour cost performance against budgets and forecasts, highlighting variances and improvement opportunities. Support budget planning processes with accurate labour cost projections and scenario modelling.
- Workforce Planning & Strategic Forecasting: Develop and maintain workforce forecasting models based on operational demands, historical data and seasonal patterns. Collaborate with operational teams to understand resource requirements and translate business needs into workforce plans. Analyse seasonal workforce patterns and recommend optimal staffing strategies for peak and off-peak periods. Support strategic workforce planning initiatives through predictive analytics and scenario planning.
- Strategic Recommendations & Reporting: Present findings, insights and recommendations to the Director of People & Culture and senior leadership team. Develop business cases for workforce-related initiatives and optimisation projects. Propose improvements to workforce scheduling, deployment and management practices. Contribute to decision-making processes regarding optimal workforce mix and resource allocation strategies.
- Process Optimisation & System Enhancement: Evaluate and recommend improvements to labour management processes and Ubeya system utilisation. Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains within workforce management workflows. Collaborate with IT and operations teams to enhance data accuracy and reporting capabilities. Develop standard operating procedures for labour data analysis and reporting.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with P&C Business Partners, Finance and operational leaders to understand departmental workforce requirements. Support recruitment and workforce planning decisions with data-driven insights. Work closely with the HR Systems Manager to maximise the functionality of People & Culture systems. Act as subject matter expert on labour analytics for cross-functional projects.
- Proven experience in workforce analysis, labour planning, or similar analytical roles within fast-paced operational environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to interpret complex workforce data.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with workforce management systems (Ubeya experience advantageous).
- Understanding of different employment types, their cost implications and regulatory requirements.
- Experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis related to workforce planning.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience of seasonal and event-driven workforce requirements highly desirable.
