We are seeking innovative and driven Karting Operatives – Timing and Race Control to help lead Kart Silverstone, a world‑class facility at one of the most prestigious motorsport venues on the planet. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of leisure and motorsport as we build on our vision to become a dynamic, year‑round destination.
At the heart of Kart Silverstone is a spectacular 1.4km FIA‑CIK circuit, multiple Arrive & Drive configurations, and an iconic two‑storey facility complete with a stylish restaurant, roof terrace, customer‑focused reception, briefing rooms and workshop. As a Karting Operative – Timing and Race Control you will ensure that the venue operates efficiently and safely, managing the customer journey, whilst leading by example and championing customer service and experience.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
- Assist in the pre‑opening phase, establishing exceptional operational standards and help build and test the Timing and Race Control systems.
- Collaborate with wider business stakeholders, venue, health and safety, security and medical ensuring efficient planning and effective delivery to all customers.
- Responsible for daily trackside operations, management of the junior permanent and casual team.
- Responsible for completion of all Karting operational admin (including prep records, race offence sheets, managing race timing, etc).
- Ensuring flawless execution of events and a seamless customer journey.
- Manage events, ensuring safety standards, fair racing and exceptional customer service standards are met.
- Be fully proficient in all Kart Silverstone timing and race control systems.
- Be instrumental in the onboarding and training of all new operational track team members.
- Take on ad hoc tasks as required by the Karting Duty Manager.
- Implement and enforce SOPs for all activities and tasks.
- Understand trackside staffing requirements and consumable usage to help ensure financial budgets are met.
Customer Experience:
- Deliver unforgettable experiences from arrival through to post‑event feedback.
- Maintain exceptional service standards, addressing customer concerns swiftly and professionally.
- Deliver engaging and professional announcements and race update via the PA system.
Team Leadership:
- Function as the leader of the trackside team during events, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of guests while on the track.
- Collaborate with the Workshop and Front of House teams to ensure the seamless delivery of operations.
- Assist in developing and inspiring a high‑performing team who are aligned with Silverstone’s values and culture.
- Lead training initiatives for junior staff members, ensuring they can excel in safety protocols, kart handling, race management and customer care.
- Manage team breaks throughout the day and consider staff welfare as a priority.
Safety and Sustainability:
- Conduct daily inspections of the track and equipment.
- Enforce safety protocols, collaborating with internal teams to adhere to rigorous industry standards and best practices.
Marketing and Revenue Growth:
- Understand the scheduling and products on offer, providing feedback and recommendations for better occupancy and profitable scheduling.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- An up‑and‑coming leader with a track record of success in team management, preferably within motorsport or leisure industries.
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft suite and a general strong IT knowledge. Previous experience with timing and race management systems is desirable.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with a passion for creating extraordinary experiences.
- Outstanding communication and problem‑solving skills, thriving in high‑pressure environments.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, operational best practices and industry trends.

- Dynamic, fast‑paced, and hands‑on, with both indoor and outdoor activities.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed – we operate 364 days a year!
