Salary: 41.42 to 55.91 hourly (To be negotiated) / 75 hours bi‑weekly

Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time

Work Setting: Nursing home / home for the aged

Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare practitioners during examinations or treatments
  • Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients’ condition
  • Address and document symptoms and changes in patients’ conditions
  • Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, coordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families
  • Conduct disease screening
  • Deliver immunization programs
  • Dispense and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician
  • Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff

Supervision: 5-10 people

Credentials:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities
