The Role
We are looking for a structured, curious, and customer‑focused Product Owner to join our cross‑functional Agile team. This is a mid‑level role suited to someone who is confident in delivery but looking to step up toward further responsibilities in the near future.
You will act as the critical bridge between Product, Engineering, UX, and our clients. You will translate product vision and commercial objectives into clear, structured, and actionable work for the scrum team, while developing deeper ownership of product outcomes, user experience, and data‑informed decision making.
This role is ideal for someone with B2B SaaS experience and has a methodical, highly organised mindset whilst also being comfortable working with ambiguity and able to independently pick up new domains quickly. A background in development or technical delivery is highly beneficial, particularly if paired with a strong interest in product strategy, UX, and data.
Key Responsibilities
- Product & Delivery Ownership
- Own and manage the product backlog (via Jira), ensuring clarity, structure, prioritisation, and readiness of work for the scrum team.
- Break down Epics into clear, structured User Stories with well‑defined acceptance criteria.
- Lead backlog refinement sessions and ensure stories are technically and functionally sound before development begins.
- Partner closely with Engineering and QA throughout the development lifecycle to ensure predictable, high‑quality delivery.
- Facilitate strong Agile ceremonies and support continuous improvement within the scrum team.
- Act as the voice of the customer within the scrum team, ensuring real user problems remain central to delivery decisions.
- Engage directly with clients when required to clarify requirements, validate assumptions, and gather feedback.
- Work closely with commercial and customer‑facing teams to triage, assess, and prioritise customer‑reported issues.
- Ensure solutions deliver measurable customer and business value.
- UX Contribution
- Develop a strong understanding of user journeys, workflows, and customer pain points within our B2B SaaS environment.
- Contribute to UX discussions, process flows, and experience improvements.
- Champion usability, clarity, and simplicity in product design.
- Technical & Data Awareness
- Collaborate with Engineering to understand architectural considerations and technical trade‑offs.
- Write clear and technically sound requirements.
- Use data and analytics to validate outcomes and identify optimisation opportunities.
- Critically evaluate existing product and architectural decisions to drive continuous improvement.
Required Competence and Skills
- 3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner in a B2B SaaS organisation.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, managing backlogs, and guiding delivery teams.
- Demonstrable customer focus and experience working directly with clients or stakeholders.
- Experience writing high‑quality, technically aware product requirements.
- Passion for data‑driven product decisions and measuring outcomes.
- Strong organisational and structured thinking skills, with the ability to bring clarity to ambiguity.
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to confidently liaise between engineers, commercial teams, and customers.
- Self‑starter mentality, and ability to pick up new domains quickly with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in fast‑moving environments with evolving priorities.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivery outcomes.
- Background in software development, engineering, or technical architecture.
- Experience with travel platforms, booking systems or other transactional/e‑commerce systems.
- Experience working with back‑office agent tooling systems.
