The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Level 2 Apprentice Laboratory Technician. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing laboratory while working towards a nationally recognised qualification. You will support our Quality Control and R&D functions, ensuring that products meet strict performance and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine laboratory testing of masterbatch materials (e.g. colour matching, dispersion, melt flow, mechanical properties)
- Prepare samples and conduct quality control checks in line with specifications
- Record and analyse test data accurately using laboratory systems
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure calibration is up to date
- Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times
- Support continuous improvement activities within the lab
- Work closely with production, technical, and quality teams
What We're Looking For
- A strong interest in science, chemistry, or materials
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and Science (Grade 4/C or above)
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
Apprenticeship Details
