This forward-thinking media agency is seeking a Data Strategy Director to lead cutting-edge customer data initiatives for some of the UK’s biggest retail brands. Sitting between strategy and activation, this role is all about turning complex data into actionable audience-first plans that drive real business outcomes.
Salary to £80,000. 3 days p/w in the London offices required.
What you’ll be doing:
- Owning and evolving audience strategy using 1st, 2nd and 3rd party data
- Collaborating with specialist media and tech teams to connect insight with activation
- Working hands-on with CDPs, DMPs, and ad/mar-tech platforms (some SQL exposure useful)
- Storytelling with data – extracting insights and shaping them into impactful strategic recommendations
- Partnering directly with clients to lead audience innovation and refresh customer engagement blueprints

About you:
- Extensive experience in developing and implementing data strategies within a complex, multi-brand organisation, ideally within the retail, e-commerce, or loyalty sectors.
- A deep understanding of customer data platforms (Adobe, Salesforce etc), data management platforms (DMPs), marketing technology ecosystems, and advanced analytics tools.
- Proven ability to translate business objectives into clear and actionable data strategies.
- Strong understanding of audience segmentation methodologies, customer profiling, and data-driven marketing techniques.
- Experience in developing and implementing measurement frameworks to assess the impact of data-driven initiatives.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with a proven ability to build relationships and drive consensus across diverse teams.
- A strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) and ethical data handling practices.
