Job duties
- Provide high‑quality primary medical care via face‑to‑face, telephone and online consultations.
- Assess, diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with national guidance.
- Conduct home visits where clinically indicated.
- Review and act on pathology results, clinical correspondence and other workflow tasks.
- Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records using EMIS Web.
- Deliver appropriate follow‑up care and continuity for patients.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient‑centred care.
- Support safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults.
- Participate in clinical meetings, education and practice development activities.
- Contribute to quality improvement and audit initiatives.
- Maintain professional registration, appraisal and revalidation requirements.
- Adhere to GMC guidance, practice policies and information governance.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified GP with current GMC registration and licence to practise.
- Included on the NHS England Medical Performers List.
- Evidence of continued professional development, appraisal and revalidation compliance.
- Experience in UK general practice and competent in managing acute and chronic conditions.
- Good IT skills; experience with EMIS Web, Accurx and digital triage systems.
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults.
- Interest in quality improvement, clinical audit and service development.
- Knowledge of Primary Care Network working and local NHS priorities.
Contract details
- Salary: £10,000–£11,500 per session per annum, dependent on experience.
