Silver Sockets are market leaders in the service and repair of mobile and static welfare cabins. As a Service Engineer for Silver Sockets, you will be responsible for the day-to-day servicing and repairs of welfare cabins, both mobile and static. Attend reactive breakdowns and repair call outs, aiming for a first-time fix on all faults. Experience in electrical systems is essential as well as a mechanical background. Acting as an ambassador for the company, a high level of customer service will be expected. Reporting to our head engineer, the role is to attend assigned jobs, diagnose faults, conduct repairs, and provide detailed findings and resolution. In addition to this, there will be the requirement to carry out general maintenance services.
The ideal candidate would be based remotely, home address and must have:
- The ability to identify and diagnose faults in a methodical manner.
- Competency to repair faulty equipment in a safe environment.
- The ability to carry out pre-planned preventative maintenance services.
- Read and interpret electrical wiring plans and diagrams.
- Proficient use of a laptop/iPad to manage and supply timely paperwork, including full completion of service reports (with photos if required).
- Awareness of Health and Safety policies and procedures and requirements in line with best practice.
- Exceptional organisation skills to be responsible for holding and maintaining company equipment, including stock, consumables, and company vehicle.
- Self-sufficient management for the stock holding of spare parts in company van.
- Up to date knowledge of Auto Electrics and current industry standards.
- Skills in a field-based customer service environment.
- Reliability and confidence in working independently.
- Self-motivation, drive, and enthusiasm.
- The ability to work within a team of Engineers to maintain and improve efficiency, sharing technical expertise and industry knowledge.
- Full UK Drivers Licence (Maximum 3 points).
- Category BE entitlement (Trailer towing).
The following are desirable but not essential as training will be given:
- Solar maintenance/repair.
- Experience with 4G Telemetry and other ancillary equipment.
- Victron energy systems.
- IT Literate – understanding of basic TCP/IP.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
