Scrap yard burner

Job Overview
The Scrap Yard Burner plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our yard, responsible for the safe and effective burning of scrap materials. This position requires a strong understanding of equipment operation and safety protocols, as well as the ability to manage materials effectively. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, mechanically inclined, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Operate burning equipment safely and efficiently to process scrap materials.
• MUST be able to cut THICK steal and other types of steal
• Load and unload materials using forklifts and other machinery.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Handle heavy lifting tasks as required, demonstrating physical strength and stamina.

Skills

• Proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
• Experience in load unloading procedures within a warehouse environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance tasks of burning equipment.
• Experience in materials handling, particularly in a scrap yard or similar setting.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: £18.00-£20.00 per hour
