My UK based client is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to take a leading role within a multidisciplinary engineering team in Glasgow. This position carries responsibility for project direction, client engagement, and technical leadership across complex building projects. The role is suited to an individual with significant experience delivering electrical engineering solutions within consultancy environments who is ready to influence project strategy, guide technical delivery, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
You will lead major projects from early concept through delivery, ensuring high technical standards, effective coordination across disciplines, and commercially sound project outcomes. The position also involves supporting the development of engineers within the team and maintaining consistency and quality across design outputs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical leadership for electrical engineering design across a portfolio of major projects
- Define project briefs and guide early-stage technical strategies and design direction
- Lead client engagement, including technical presentations, design reviews, and coordination workshops
- Oversee multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure seamless integration of engineering systems
- Manage project programmes, resourcing plans, fee performance, and associated risks
- Maintain quality and technical accuracy across calculations, reports, specifications, and detailed design deliverables
- Mentor and support engineers at all levels, fostering a strong technical culture within the team
- Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives
- Extensive experience delivering electrical engineering solutions within complex, multidisciplinary building projects
- Strong technical capability using digital engineering tools such as Revit, BIM, Dialux, Relux, and Electrical OM
- Proven consultancy experience with confidence leading client-facing engagements
- Demonstrated ability to set technical standards, oversee design quality, and manage project teams
- Strong commercial awareness with experience supporting fee planning and delivery forecasting
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
- A collaborative and forward-thinking approach to engineering and project delivery
