When was the last time you made a difference in someone's life? It takes a special person to be a Care Worker and help the older members of our community to maintain their independence and wellbeing. We are looking for a Cert III qualified person with at least 6 months experience in a similar role, to join the Silverchain team in the Carlton 3053 area.

What we’re looking for:

In addition, you will need:

  • A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
  • Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability.
  • Experience of 6 months or more in a similar role that includes personal care, manual handling, hoist training and assisting with medications.

The role:

In the role of Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

  • General housekeeping and making beds.
  • Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
  • Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
  • Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

  • Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
  • Assisting clients to take their medications.
  • Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
  • Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
  • Providing social and emotional support.
  • Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
  • Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
